Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 June 2026
Livescored is built to be private by default. We don’t have user accounts, we don’t run ad networks, and we don’t use third-party analytics or trackers. Almost everything personal — your favorites, predictions and preferences — is stored only in your own browser and never reaches our servers.
1. Who we are (data controller)
The “data controller” responsible for this site is the operator of Livescored (“Livescored”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us about any privacy matter at hello@livescored.net.
Operator note: replace this with your registered legal entity name and postal address before going to production — [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. If you have an EU/UK representative or a Data Protection Officer, list them here too.
2. The short version
- No sign-up, no login, no profiles.
- No advertising, no ad-tech, no cross-site tracking.
- No third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no pixels).
- Your favorites, predictions and settings live in your browser’s local storage — you can wipe them any time below.
- We don’t sell or share personal data. There’s nothing to sell.
3. What we process, and why
Data you create, stored locally. Favorites, recently viewed items, score predictions and UI preferences (such as theme and dismissed prompts) are saved with your browser’s localStorage/sessionStorage. This data stays on your device. We can’t read it, and it isn’t transmitted to us. See the Cookies & Storage Policy for the full list.
Server logs. Like virtually every website, our hosting and CDN provider automatically processes basic technical data when you load a page — IP address, user-agent, requested URL and timestamp — to deliver content, keep the service secure and prevent abuse. These logs are short-lived and are not used to build a profile of you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a secure, reliable service.
No special-category data, no profiling, no automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects takes place.
4. Cookies & local storage
We do not use cookies for advertising or analytics. We use only first-party, functional browser storage that is necessary for features you actively use (e.g. remembering your favorites). Because this storage is strictly functional, no consent banner is legally required — but we show a one-time notice for transparency and give you full control below. Details and a complete key-by-key table are in the Cookies & Storage Policy.
5. Third-party data sources
Livescored aggregates publicly available sports data. When a page shows scores, standings, news or images, that content (and team badges, crests or photos) may be fetched from third-party providers including TheSportsDB, ESPN, ClubElo, OpenF1, Open-Meteo, the BBC, The Guardian, Wikipedia/Wikimedia, StatsBomb, Liquipedia and Reddit. Most requests are made from our servers, but some images load directly from those providers’ CDNs, which means your browser contacts them and they may receive your IP address and user-agent in the process. Their use of that data is governed by their own privacy policies. We don’t embed third-party advertising or social tracking widgets.
6. International transfers
Some of the third-party providers above are located outside the European Economic Area (for example, in the United States). Where your browser loads content directly from such providers, data may be processed in those countries under the safeguards each provider maintains. We ourselves do not export your personal data.
7. Retention
Locally stored data persists in your browser until you clear it (using the control below, or your browser’s own settings). Technical server logs are retained only for as long as needed for security and operations, then deleted or anonymised.
8. Your rights
If you are in the EEA or UK, the GDPR gives you the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection (Articles 15–21), as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Because we hold no account and no server-side personal profile about you, most of these rights you can exercise instantly yourself: the data is in your browser, and the button below erases it. For anything else, email hello@livescored.net.
Manage your data
Everything Livescored remembers about you lives in this browser only — nothing is sent to a server. Clear it any time.
