Asociația Suporter Club Oțelul Galați (Romanian pronunciation: ; Galați Steel), commonly known as Oțelul Galați, or simply as Oțelul, is a Romanian football club based in the city of Galați, Galați County, currently playing in the Liga III. Founded in 1964 and refounded in 2016, they have spent the majority of the last few decades in the top division, securing several seasons of European football and enjoying success in the Romanian Cup. They won their first league title in the 2010–2011 season and consequently qualified for the UEFA Champions League for the first time. On 25 August they were drawn in Group C of the Group Stage and met Manchester United, Benfica and FC Basel. Gălățenii play in red, white and blue kits.

Fotbal Club Politehnica Iași, commonly known as Politehnica Iași, or simply Poli Iași, is a Romanian professional football club based in the city of Iași, Iași County, currently playing in the Liga I. The team was formed in 2010 as ACSMU Politehnica Iași, following the dissolution of the original FC Politehnica Iași. It began competing in the second division and made its first Liga I appearance in the 2012–13 season. They achieved their best result in the latter competition in 2018 when they finished in sixth place. Stadionul Emil Alexandrescu is the home ground of "the White and Blues" and has a capacity of 11,390.
